The Versatile Actor of Japan, Narimiya Hiroki
That was probably a prose to show how serious he is towards his acting career, but then again, he was just plainly serious about stripping in front of the camera lenses.
Narimiya Hiroki was born on September 14, 1982, and raised in Tokyo, japan. However, both his parents are Okinawan which makes him an Okinawan descent. That was probably one factor that contributed to his natural slight tan skin and fresh beach boy look.
However, when he was still young, his parents divorced and he had been living with his mother ever since. But during the third year of junior high school, his mother died and left him and his brother to live with his grandmother instead. He had made a promise to his mother to become serious about acting and soon dropped out of school to pursue his career.

For the role, he actually went through audition and was chosen for the role out of 3000 other auditioners. His film debut was 2001’s Oboreru Sakana. He followed that up by playing Takeshi Noda in the popular Nippon Television Network show Gokusen, which also starred the famous teen idol of that time, Matsumoto Jun. The drama had further boosted his popularity and critical success in the entertainment industry.
Since his early years in the entertainment industry, Narimiya Hiroki had been on many supporting roles and even been acting on antagonist roles in numerous films, dramas and plays. Come 2003, he performed in his first period film, “Azumi”, which became a box office hit and allowed Hiroki to display his swordplay skills from daily training. He was also very well known for playing atypical roles like being a gay in ‘Innocent Love’, the dreadful terrorist in ‘Bloody Monday 2’ and as a problem school student in ‘Kou kou Kyoshi 2003’. His performance in the hit anime turned movie ‘NANA’, had also skyrocketed his popularity among teens and female fans. Besides acting, he had been working too on numerous CMs and modeled for many major companies. You can check the list of his films and dramas here.
Besides to have very well proven himself as a versatile actor, he had become quite a fashion leader. He designed a line of clothes along with many collaboration projects. Fall 2003, he appeared as a model for his Tokyo collection. His trademark hairstyle, the “Narimiya Cut” became all the rage among Japanese teens. Narimiya had a new drama on air which is called ‘Flunk Punk Rumble’ or ‘Yankee kun to Megane chan’, which he will (again) be acting the role of a Yankee alongside actress Naka Riisa. This is sure to be another blastful comedy for Japanese Drama lovers. I’ll be covering the review in coming post soon!
